Ask For Commitment

I have been subscribing the Leadership Promises article of John Maxwell for quite a long time now. It has been a great help to me. I got a new meaning of a true leader everyday. The following article is of 19 Dec 10 which is among my favorite. I like to share it here to remind me of my Commitment to God everyday. :)

"After these things He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me." So he left all, rose up, and followed Him.  Luke 5:27-28

In his book The One Minute Manager®, Ken Blanchard says, "There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you do it only when it is convenient. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses." Don't equip people who are merely interested. Equip the ones who are committed.

Commitment is the one quality above all others that enables a potential leader to become a successful leader. Without commitment, there can be no success. Football coach Lou Holtz pointed out, "The Kamikaze pilot who was able to fly fifty missions was involved-but never committed."

To determine whether your people are committed, first you must make sure they know what it will cost them to become a leader. That means that you must be sure not to undersell the job. Let them know what it's going to take to do it. Only then will they know what they are committing to. If they won't commit, don't go any further in the equipping process. Don't waste your time."

Christmas Decor

Only few more days to go for Christmas.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

And this year I am so glad and blessed to be together with my mom and dad on Christmas day. And my first-ever chistmas together with my husband after our marriage :) There is nothing like being together as a a family.

As I have said earlier I am decorating my home with home-made christmas kit.I want to show a wreath which I made out of wrapping papers and news papers :-) I am so proud of it eventhough it is not that good. Here is the wreath below...
And this is our christmas tree (not made by me) which we finished decorating within an hour with my brothers :)

That's all about my home decors :) Now I want to share a bit about our church. The youth are ready with Christmas songs and we are going to decorate the church hall on 24th. The pre-christmas celebration of our Children Project (Compassion) is over. Now my only prayer is to be a blessing for others, to help people to receive Christ as their SPECIAL gift in this christmas.

Merry Christmas

The Tree & Star is UP

Last night we reached home with our new Christmas tree, stars and some decoration stuff. Mom and dad and brothers were still awake waiting for us for dinner and Of course for the christmas tree. We couldn't wait to put up the star and the tree. As soon as we reach we unpack the stuff and put up the tree and the star. :-) We all were so excited that we set-up everything ready within an hour..hahaha.

My heart filled with joy and thankfulness to God for all HIS countless blessings in my life, for blessing me with a wonderful and loving family. Thank you Jesus.
